How has life been treating you without disqus? Have you missed my rants? Do you miss chatting away about various dramas on a weekly post? I hope you missed me as much as I did!

Dramaland has been filled with many exciting happenings : From China's ban on idol dramas for its upcoming 70th anniversary to controversial & highly rated star dramas in South Korea.... Also let's not forget the sequels & seasons. Japan & Thailand are also providing steady subbed dramas these days..... Isn't it happening?! 🤭

Some of my jargon & rambles can get a bit confusing, & since we're starting anew here's a chart for reference 😛

CURRENTLY WATCHING~

#MY GIRLFRIEND IS AN ALIEN 
   ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️| 8/10

An alien woman saves a guy who forgets women he meets every time it rains, & loses the thing that can take her back home. What ensues are hilarious over the top & silly scenes as our hormone fuelled (read horny😉) heroine chases the ML & builds association with people while being her weird self.
                    

his drama is beyond ridiculous, but it's a make you laugh with its mixed bag of all possible clichés kind of drama. I giggled through the first 4 episodes, & enjoyed it a lot. 10 episodes have been subbed so far. Fans of Eternal Love S1 & S2 will enjoy this. Turn off your brain & come along for the ride coz it's crazy fun 🤗😃😂

      Did I mention the talking 🐢?😂🤣

Tired of law/crime/thriller dramas with too good guys, where things are too rigidly black & white? Then this is the one for you. All characters here have shades of grey.

There's no romance meddling in a good storyline & with the little inserts of wry humour, what more could you ask for? 😁

A bland faced Sejeong singing

about being by the side of the guy she has no chemistry with makes you realise she should stick to singing eh😏😆
The murder & the mystery storyline are good, even with the red herrings. Greed, ambition, personal issues.... What's the causal factor?

Who did what???? 

You can guess what you know but is that all? I wanna hear that story, rather than a song (which btw, ost by O.When = amazing. But for a drama situated around classical musicians, not much classical sounding music to enhance the feel of the drama 😕)

#MOMENTS AT EIGHTEEN

 A show that maturely handles love, attraction  growing up, difficult circumstances & homosexuality. Its refreshing to see Oh Je getting support from his friends.

Honestly Moon Bin & Ong Seong Woo are doing so well, you cannot say that it's their first time. It shows crappy grown ups on one side & that adults are humans too on the other side. It's a mix of emotions -from heart warming,        Sweet + cute, touching, motivating – to sad, 

frustrating & angry at times.

Turbulent times for teens, not quite children but not quite ready for the world either. The sensitivity with which it has dealt with most issues is really nice, quite surprising tbh. I highly recommend it. 

#ROOKIE HISTORIAN GOO HAE RYUNG

So Yi Rim is the previous king's son?Oh what a surprise....NOT! We guessed it ages ago, just why did they have to postpone the HoDam stuff to the last 2 episodes?? This Daegun Mama is one of the most useless male lead characters I've seen. Quite shallow writing for one of the main characters. I almost keep wishing GHR would end up with historian Min instead of the lacklustre prince.

     Also was the Song Daeri (female historian song - the rich noble girl) x Crown Prince necessary? I ffed ⏩ through the latest episode a lot.

I've seen 12 episodes so far. The ML is slightly over passable but FL has no expressions - neither in her voice nor her face. The class prez guy is hot, also quite decent actor. I'm going to watch his future projects. The other bad girl too, nice acting . Overall the story is light but cohesive for the most part ; but it's still only an okay pass time watch.

Just started watching this, I'm kind of flabbergasted. 

Omo omo omo.... Is this the same Im Soo Hyang with a constipated face from My ID is Gangnam Beauty & previous projects?

She doesn't look like a stuck in unfamiliar place lost child anymore (cough Lovers in bloom cough).... Is it the acting, the costume or the characterisation? This is unexpectedly nice.

I found it nice enough that I've already rewatched this. While it brings up attraction,like, admiration, lust & love ; it doesn't spend much time exploring their meaning.               Also for a

drama about an app you get barely any info about how the app works. How does it detect like? Heartbeat? The pulse detector on your phone or wearables?

It touches on issues like bullying  homosexuality, sexual assault, depression, suicide but then glosses over them.
      It's a good watch for the love progression & triangle, for cute moments,; also one of the most reasonable sounding break up reasons I've heard of in dramaland.

A mystery solving crime & thriller drama, that's packed with feels. It made me tear up😢 a couple of times. It had a few hitches in the writing that repeated themselves, & they're the primary reason why I gave it an 8. Overall its a solid story & I get why so many people love it & are clamouring for S2.

Bad CGI, low budget props+settings & some plot holes 🕳 aside, it was a very enjoyable drama. The drama actually changed & filled in a lot of things that the original source story lacked, & one of the better IP novel adaptations out there. A zombie fighting, mischievous one man against the world type of story....with adventures, bromance & an unexpected love. Its an enjoyable ride.

I was looking for dramas that would make me cry... This didn't. For an older drama I guess it's nice enough . I found it quite boring honestly, & predictable to boot.
But I didn't feel bad for the rich brat for even a second. A woman that tells her friends to wear her expensive designer dress because "it's not like you'll ever get to wear something like this" would obviously turn them against her, I'm more surprised they didn't personally harm her 🙄
The cringey acting, the predictability, the plot holes, the moral oppression over grief & love... All of these combined with boredom are why I rated it how I rated it.
[This drama was a recommendation, & I'm kind of hesitant about trashing hyped recs 😬😓]

What can I say about this I haven't already? I love the OTP's chemistry & rewatched it's episodes many times despite its weak story &
 wooden faced Xiao Bai.
                                       Call it guilty pleasure...
                           But with scenes like 👆🏼
                           Can you blame me ? 🤭 🤭 🤭
